True Yoga’s “The Essential Yoga Therapy Diploma”
In the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya and T.K.V. Desikachar
Beginning in 2025, I am part of the teaching faculty on True Yoga’s “The Essential Yoga Therapy Course”. This training course provides a comprehensive overview of all the aspects in using Yoga as a Therapy. It is aimed at both those considering a transition into the profession and also to those who are passionate in learning more about Yoga.
Our course places a strong emphasis on the realistic applications and effectiveness of the different tools of yoga: from body movement and breathwork; to voicework; therapeutic use of sound; and meditative practices; diet and lifestyle choices. Throughout, you’ll learn how to combine them intelligently to create different effects and outcomes based on an individual and their situation.
You’ll start with the fundamentals: learning how yoga views our lives and the world. Every facet is covered; Yoga considers us as physical, psychological and spiritual individuals. You will discover the ancient understanding of the different common diseases and disorders we experience today.
Working with real life case studies we’ll guide you step by step through the initial client consultation process. You will learn observation and diagnosis and how to successfully prioritise methods. We’ll show you how to communicate and motivate those that come to you. You’ll build yourown unique portfolio of case studies.

Meet your Yoga Therapist
Hi, I’m Stanford. I have been working as a medical doctor since 2013, focused in Mental health and Women’s health. This has given me lots of experience in looking after people with a variety of physical and mental health problems.
I began practising Yoga when I was a teenager and have been teaching Yoga since 2018. Being trained in the lineage of Krishnamacharya and T.K.V. Desikachar, I have learned yoga practice beyond exercise; into therapeutic and spiritual purposes.
